Brexit

Brexit refers to Britain and Exit. Brexit is the separation of the UK (United Kingdom) from the EU (European Union) according to Article 50. This separation happened on 31st January 2020. After this article came into the act, Little Ones received a lot of FAQs from our nannies and employers regarding Brexit. We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked Brexit questions from nannies and nanny employers for your reference.

How can I find out if I have the legal right to work and live in the UK?

If you wish to apply for a nanny job in the UK and are not a citizen, you can visit the HMRC Visa Requirements to check your eligibility. To check the type of visa you need and take the next step, visit the Government’s website. After selecting the type of visa, you have to provide identification for your background check and prove that you can manage financially during your residence in the UK.

What is the cost estimation for a Visa?

The cost of a Visa can vary depending upon its type. You have to pay an extra fee for the Immigration Health Surcharge for your residence. It will allow you to use the NHS service until you are staying in the UK.

Is a nanny eligible for applying for a skilled Workers Visa?

The nannies working outside of the UK must make sure that they are eligible for the Government’s Working Visa Criteria. To grant the visa, the individual should have a sponsorship to reside in the UK. But, it is significant to note that the household employers are not eligible for providing financial support to the nannies who seek skilled Workers visas.
