About Ofsted Registration

little ones OFSTED REGISTRATION

Some families in the UK will search for nannies who are Ofsted registered to pay for childcare with Childcare vouchers or Tax-free childcare. Many workplaces will give their employees Childcare vouchers. Also, there are cases where the family applies through the government to receive childcare benefits. If families want to enjoy any of the befits mentioned before, they must hire someone registered with the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted).

What is the Office Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills?

Ofsted is an independent, non-ministerial government department in charge of inspecting those organisations that provide education for learners of all ages. They will check and regulate services that care for children and young people. They make sure that the education services follow the law and keep a high standard for children and students.

So, mentioned above, the government can make sure that the family is getting the best childcare through nannies is to asking them to hire nannies who have done the process to be Ofsted registered. Also, many nannies will do this process to show families in the UK that they are serious about their careers in childcare.

Ofsted registration costs £103 per year. You can find the different costs here.

Do I need to give a payslip to my nanny if I’m using any Childcare voucher or Tax-free childcare?

The answer to this question is yes; you need to provide your nanny with a payslip to see how much she is earning per month, how much she is contributing to taxes, and the different obligations she has.

It is essential to consider that when you decide to hire a nanny, housekeeper or any domestic staff, a group of obligations will come with this action. One of these obligations is to provide your employee with a payslip every month. The payslip is proof of employment and that the nanny or household member is up to date with their tax payments.

The nanny will always be responsible for paying taxes, so it’s essential to bear in mind that it doesn’t matter if the nanny is getting paid through childcare benefits or tax-free childcare benefits; the family still needs to deduct any contributions like taxes, pension to the nanny wages.

Many families in London & England will choose to use a payroll service to avoid missing any essential steps in their domestic staff payslip and tax declaration.
