Ofsted Requirements For Nannies

OFSTED REGISTRATION FOR NANNIES

Are you looking for an Ofsted registered nanny? Or are you a nanny, looking to become registered? Did you know that Little Ones can help provide 3 out of the 4 items required by Ofsted for registration?

For families seeking a nanny who is Ofsted registered, this will open up your candidate search. By finding the right nanny, and then putting them through the training, you can quickly register the nanny of your choice on the Ofsted Voluntary Register, without limiting your search to already registered candidates.

For nannies, some families ask for Ofsted registered nannies as a requirement in their search criteria. By completing the right courses, you will be ready to register, should the need arise. This gives parents the reassurance that you are complying with standards set out by Ofsted and are providing a safe and caring environment for their children, and are set up and equipped for emergency situations.

Benefits of being an Ofsted Nanny Register

Nannies are not currently required to be Ofsted registered to be employed. However, it is the requirement of some families that their nanny becomes Ofsted registered on the Ofsted Voluntary Register so that the family can then have access to Government finance schemes to help pay for childcare.

To be an Ofsted Nanny Registered is more than just an Ofsted or employment requirement. It is a life skill needed to take care of children. By completing an Ofsted registration, you will build the foundation of safe practice. You will grow your own confidence and allow parents to feel the reassurance they need to leave their child in your safe, secure and capable hands.

When it comes to children, you should be prepared for any kind of emergency. Unfortunately, small children do not understand risks, and so it is down to the adult to risk assessment for them, and a family home can be a challenge to some. Children are curious about the world around them and will explore in many ways, including putting things in their mouths. To have the basic skills being an Ofsted register for nannies can offer, will not only give the parents reassurance that you are capable of keeping their children safe, but will also improve your practice to be able to assess risks, provide a safe environment, and know exactly what to do in any emergency situation where first aid may be required.

To work successfully with a child and within a family, it is important to be clear about your role and responsibilities and to be aware of and respectful of the role of other family members and workers.  Actively seek and respect other people’s input and knowledge to deliver the best outcomes for the child. Families will know that you have been working on getting these skills through the different courses you have done to become an Ofsted Nanny Registered.

So what is the criteria to become an Ofsted registered nanny?
