Nanny Pension Enrolment

Nanny Pension Enrolment

Auto-enrolment is nothing but an employee is included in certain benefits without asking them by the employer. Before 2012, the workspace pension scheme was up to the employee’s interest. Since 2012, all employers must help and provide the workspace pension scheme to their employees.

Nowadays, applying and providing workspace pension is common and legal for every employee by their respective employers. Though you don’t consider yourself as an employer when you hire a nanny in your family automatically, become an employer and they the employee. Little Ones Payroll service comes to the rescue here. We make sure that the process of updating and providing auto-enrolment of pensions is easy.

Our services

After registering in our Little Ones payroll service, if you wish then we will automatically enrol your nannies in the pension scheme. This process will be achieved if the employee meets up the above eligibility criteria. We will also monitor their status periodically. We will also calculate the deduction of the pension amount from your nanny’s salary on your behalf. We will have the record of your employee auto-enrolment. We will automatically register with the pension scheme again before the expiry date. You can check your employee pension records by enquiring from our HR team.

Criteria for Eligibility

Auto-enrolment of pension scheme includes following criteria as follows,

· Your employee should not have applied into the auto-enrolment process already
· Your employee’s age should be between 22 and 74
· Your nanny should earn more than minimum earnings
· Your nanny should have the permit to a pension scheme

If a nanny is below 22 age or has a salary less than £10,000 per year, the pension scheme is not compulsory. But, if your nanny requests you to provide a pension, then you have to arrange it. If the employee meets up with the above eligibility criteria, then you have to provide them with the pension scheme. It is eligible even for the part-time and temporary nanny. If you fail to provide the pension for your nanny/employee, then you have to pay a fine of £400. You also have to pay the pension that you have missed paying so far.
